Advancing legal knowledge, professional excellence, and continuous learning for the legal fraternity.
The Madras High Court was established in the year 1862 by a Royal Charter. Barristers practicing in the High Court formed an Association in the year 1865.
The first recorded meeting of the Association was held on 14th March, 1865. In its early years, British Barristers were enrolled as members before Indian Barristers were subsequently permitted to join.
The Association has continued to evolve alongside the legal profession and remains committed to professional development, education and the interests of the legal fraternity.
The MBA Academy is an academic wing of the Madras Bar Association created for the continuous learning and professional benefit of the legal fraternity.
